Mervyn Fischer is the Chief Executive Officer of Allweld Nuclear & Industrial, a well-established Engineering Solutions Service provider in the various energy sectors since 1962.

He is a Nuclear Professional with 27 years experience in various roles at Koeberg Nuclear Power Station, as well as the private sector – including nuclear plant operations, maintenance, safety, leadership, and training. He has been a member of several nuclear safety committees in South Africa.

Since taking over the reins at Allweld in 2019, he has broadened the energy footprint of the company in line with its vision. He has been instrumental in spearheading the development and implementation of an ASME NQA-1 compliant Integrated Management System for Nuclear activities, and through his leadership, he has ensured that Allweld Nuclear & Industrial has become the first company in South Africa and Africa to be ISO 19443 certified for Nuclear Level 1 & 2 products and services.

Mervyn was appointed as the first African member of the ASME NQA-1 European and African Working Group (EUIWG) and is a member of the Executive committee of the Nuclear Industry Association of South Africa (NIASA). He also serves as a member of the DeepGEO Ubuntu Nuclear Energy Advisory Board.
