Director, Somaliland

Dr. Fouad worked with the Somaliland Ministry of Investment and Industrial Development (MIID) as a consultant for two years, where he coordinated with many different international NGOs, including FCA-I and IFC extra. During that period, He drafted and finalized several acts and policies, such as the Somaliland Investment Policy, Somaliland Investment Act, Somaliland Industrial Policy and Somaliland Industrial Act.

Dr. Fouad also worked with Stidit-Samasons as an information management assistant for two years and was part of the team that conducted the baseline assessment for the Somaliland fishing development. During that time, Dr. Fouad traveled to the Somaliland coastal regions, met local fishing stakeholders, and carried out interviews and analytical research that was later published.

Dr. Fouad also served as a program coordinator at Eelo University for one year, where he assisted the program director. Moreover, Dr. Fouad has also worked with Somaliland Electoral Commission (NEC) as an information technology trainer and IT-supervisor. He also
supervised the process of voter registration as a technical supervisor and troubleshooter.

Now at DeepGeo, Dr. Fouad is the Director of DeepGEO Somaliland and a leading member of the Somaliland National Nuclear Taskforce. This involves carrying out local community awareness building and measuring support, as well as undertaking capacity building (especially amongst young people) and securing funding for Somaliland Nuclear plants and a repository for spent nuclear fuel.
