
Dr. Douglas Zormelo
Head, Parliamentary Training Institute, Parliament of Ghana
Prior to becoming the Head of the Parliamentary Training Institute in Ghana, Dr. Douglas Zormelo was the Chief Executive Officer of Zormelo & Associates, a management and development consultancy in Accra, Ghana.
He was also the Chairman of the Upstream Petroleum Service Providers Association of Ghana (UPSPAG), and the Chairman of the Oil and Gas Sector Skills Body of the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education Training.
He is an experienced management and development expert who has worked in both the private and public sectors and in academia. He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and has worked in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Ghana, and the ECOWAS Commission. He has worked with leading research and consultancy firms, including Overseas Development Institutes (ODI), Price Waterhouse, Ernst and Young, and KPMG.
He taught at the London School of Economics, was a Research Fellow at the ODI and Legon Centre for International Affairs, University of Ghana, and was a Visiting Professor at University of Denver’s Graduate School of International Studies.
He was Project Director for the ECOWAS Trade Negotiation Capacity Building Project. He has also consulted for various international organisations, including the United Nations, Economic Commission for Africa, and SADC.
He specialises in international economic relations, regional economic integration, international trade and development, the multilateral trading system, the economic partnership agreement, and international relations in general.
